New Francophone short course on leading change in nutrition- October 2019

Strengthening capacity to lead change in multisector nutrition environments

The African Nutrition Leadership Programme, the International Food Policy Research Institute and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are pleased to announce a new leadership development course specifically designed for strengthening leadership capabilities in individuals who work in multisectoral environments.  The 5-day course, which will be mainly in French, will be hosted from 21-25 October 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.

A second francophone course will focus on current evidence and analysis for nutrition policy and programming and will take place in Dakar in March 2020.

Who should apply?

Participants from the 2019 nutrition leadership course in Ghana.

Individuals who are passionate and are interested in strengthening their leadership skills and work within the broader multisectoral nutrition environment are encouraged to apply.

The typical candidate will be in a position to make an impact in nutrition and might be working in a multisectoral setting in agriculture that is aligned with the aims of CAADP or in nutrition in activities that are aligned with the aims of SUN or achieving change in nutrition in the region.  The candidate will have some work experience and be serious about their self-development and growth and the impact they have.  She/he will be working in one of the ECOWAS countries and be passionate about what they do. The person will be open to new ways of doing and be willing to push themselves beyond their comfort zone.

What will you learn?

Awareness and growth of own leadership capabilities and a clear sense of how to use them to lead change in multisector environments.

Venue and date

The course will be hosted in Dakar, Senegal from 21-25 October 2019, venue to be confirmed.

Course fees

Funding for course fees and full board and lodging has been secured.  A limited number of international flight grants for international participants working in the ECOWAS region are available. Participants are expected to cover their own incidental costs.

Language 

This course will mainly be led in French.

Closing dates

The closing date for applications is at 12h00 CAT on 24 July 2019.

The results will be made known on 7 August 2019.
